The Flagship

The 4ᵗʰ RMLNLU – Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys International Arbitration Moot Court Competition, 2026 will be hosted by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, from 3rd to 5th April 2026. The event is expected to bring together leading law universities from across India and abroad, engaging in rigorous rounds of oral arguments in a memorial knockout format that will further test participants’ written and oral advocacy skills at the highest level. As one of RMLNLU’s flagship events, the competition is set to uphold its tradition of academic excellence and foster meaningful engagement with contemporary issues in international arbitration.

The previous editions have consistently maintained high standards of arbitration advocacy, with the 3rd edition, released in February 2025, standing out as a particularly successful milestone. It attracted 32 top-tier teams, featured a distinguished finals bench led by Hon’ble Mr Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan and eminent arbitration practitioners, and concluded with a compelling valedictory address and substantial awards—including internships with leading law firms. The edition was further strengthened by the support of prominent partners such as S&A Law Offices as Title Sponsor, along with leading institutional collaborators and knowledge partners, all of whom contributed significantly to its credibility and impact. 

The finals bench for the 2026 edition is expected to comprise eminent judges, senior advocates, and leading arbitration practitioners, whose insights will add depth to the proceedings and enhance the learning experience for all participants. Their involvement will continue the legacy of distinguished adjudicators who have shaped the competition’s reputation for intellectual rigour and quality.

The valedictory ceremony will feature a prominent legal luminary as the Chief Guest, who is expected to speak on the increasing importance of arbitration in global dispute resolution. The ceremony will also include awards for Winning Team, Runners-Up, Best Speaker, and Best Memorial. Along with an impressive prize pool, top-performing participants will receive internship opportunities with leading law firms and arbitration experts, providing valuable professional exposure for students aiming to build careers in ADR and international commercial arbitration.

The 4th edition is poised to mark another significant milestone in promoting arbitration advocacy, fostering collaboration, and strengthening the culture of practical legal education at RMLNLU. The event is expected to reaffirm the university’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in the field of international dispute resolution.
